Credits and caching

Every check costs 1 credit, and the combined check costs the sum of its parts. You’re only charged when the answer is worth something:

• Phone validation is free for invalid numbers.
• Domain age is free for unregistered domains and for TLDs with no registry data.
• Errors are never charged.

Caching

Each team gets a 7-day cache. Asking about the same input again within 7 days returns the stored answer for 0 credits, with "cache_hit": true in metadata. Inputs are normalized first, so Jane@Example.com and jane@example.com share a cache entry.

To force a fresh, billed lookup, send "bypass_cache": true. Partial answers are never cached.

Balance and expiry

• Plan credits arrive each billing period and expire at the end of it; they don’t roll over.
• Top-up credits last 12 months and are used after plan credits.
• GET /v1/account and the X-Credits-Remaining header show your live balance.

When your balance can’t cover a check, the API returns 402 INSUFFICIENT_CREDITS and charges nothing.
