Terms of Service

Effective October 16, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you (or the organization you sign up for, "you") and ValidationCheck ("ValidationCheck", "we"). They cover the website, the dashboard at app.validationcheck.net, and the API at api.validationcheck.net (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using an API key you agree to them. If you sign up for an organization, you confirm you can bind it.

1. Your account

  • Give accurate sign-up details and keep them current. One free account per person; creating extra accounts to get more free credits isn't allowed.
  • Keep your password and API keys secret. You're responsible for everything done with your account and keys. Rotate or revoke a key as soon as you think it's exposed.
  • You must be at least 18 and using the Service for a business or professional purpose.

2. Using the Service

You can use the Service to check email addresses, phone numbers, IP addresses, and domains for your own products and operations, within the Acceptable Use Policy. You may not resell the Service or its results as a standalone data product without a written partner agreement with us. You may publish benchmarks and comparisons of the Service.

Results come from our own checks and third-party data sources. They're a statement of likelihood, not a guarantee: an address marked deliverable can still bounce, and a number's carrier can change. Use them as one input to your decisions.

3. Credits, plans, and payment

  • Credits. Lookups use credits as listed on our pricing page. Errors, test-mode requests, repeats within 7 days, and answers we mark free are not charged.
  • Plans. The Free plan includes a one-time trial of 50 credits per person; it has no monthly credits. Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, through Stripe, and renew automatically until cancelled.
  • Expiry. Plan credits expire at the end of each monthly period and don't roll over. Top-up credits last 12 months and are used after plan credits.
  • Changes. Upgrades take effect immediately and are charged pro rata. Downgrades and cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • Automatic top-ups are off by default. If you turn them on, you authorize us to charge your saved card when your balance falls below your threshold, up to the monthly cap you set.
  • Refunds. Unused top-up credits can be refunded within 14 days of purchase. A subscription renewal can be refunded pro rata if you ask within 7 days and have used less than 10% of that period's credits. Otherwise payments are non-refundable except where the law requires.
  • Prices. We'll give at least 30 days' notice by email before raising a plan price or the credits a check costs.
  • Taxes are added where required. If a payment fails we may suspend paid features until it succeeds.

4. Your data and our use of it

You keep all rights to the inputs you send and the results you receive ("Customer Data"). We process Customer Data only to provide the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy and Data Processing Addendum, which form part of these terms. You're responsible for having a lawful basis to send us the personal data you check, and for complying with laws that apply to how you use results, including marketing, telephone, and anti-spam laws (such as the TCPA and CAN-SPAM) and data protection laws.

5. Availability and changes

We work to keep the Service available and fast, and publish status at status.validationcheck.net. Unless you have a signed Enterprise agreement with an SLA, the Service is provided without an uptime commitment. We may change or retire features; for breaking API changes we give at least 90 days' notice and keep the versioned API (/v1) working through that period.

6. Suspension and termination

You can cancel any time from the dashboard or delete your account in Settings. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, don't pay, or create risk or legal exposure for us or others. Where reasonable we'll tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. On termination your right to use the Service ends and unused credits are forfeited, except refunds described above.

7. Our intellectual property

The Service, our software, documentation, and brand belong to us. You get a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use them during your subscription. Don't copy, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract our data sets, or use the Service to build a competing data product.

8. Disclaimers

Except as expressly stated in these terms, the Service and results are provided "as is" and "as available", and we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the extent the law allows.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data. Each party's total liability arising from these terms is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. These limits don't apply to your payment obligations, your breach of the Acceptable Use Policy, or either party's indemnity obligations.

10. Indemnity

You'll defend and indemnify us against third-party claims arising from your Customer Data, your use of results, or your breach of these terms or applicable law. We'll defend and indemnify you against third-party claims that the Service, used as permitted, infringes their intellectual property.

11. General

  • We may update these terms. For material changes we'll email account owners at least 30 days before they take effect; continuing to use the Service after that means you accept them.
  • These terms are governed by the laws of Utah, United States, and disputes go to its courts, unless a law where you live says otherwise.
  • If part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Not enforcing a right isn't a waiver of it. You can't assign these terms without our consent; we may assign them to a successor of our business.
  • These terms, the policies they link to, and any order form are the whole agreement about the Service.
